Doctor Nina Jones Talks about the different techniques she can use to treat jaw pain
In our practice, we have lots of different tools in our toolbox that allow us to treat patients for conditions of clenching, grinding, jaw pain, tension headaches. So, that may be combination therapy. Clear aligners can help align the teeth, improve the bite pattern, and thereby alleviate not only the damaging effects of clenching, grinding, but also the pain that comes with that in the joint. We also have the use of Botox in the muscles to help relieve over-tense or over-stimulated muscles. That gives significant pain relief. And we also use digital technology. So, we’re able to take impressions much more comfortably for our patients who may not be able to open as wide, or who are suffering from jaw pain and just can’t tolerate a traditional impression.
